James E. Dixon, "Eddie", 68, of Coatesville, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Brandywine Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Eddie was a son of the late Willie and Bernice Dixon. He was the husband of Rosalyn M. Dixon.
He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged. He was received several awards for his valiant service including the Combat Action Ribbon, a Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was an M-14 Rifle Marksman.
He was a member of Faith Center United Ministries in Coatesville, PA.
Eddie enjoyed watching movies, computers, science and listening to gospel music. He was a very intelligent man. No matter what was going on he would often say, "I'm Blessed."
In addition to his wife, Eddie is survived by two sons Eddie Murphy of Hawaii, Stephen Dixon of Philadelphia; two daughters, Sakinah Dixon of New Jersey, De'Aja Dixon of Philadelphia; siblings, Brenda, Calvin, Lawrence, Thomas, Denise, Keith, Walter and Sherry all of Philadelphia; 7 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was most recently preceded in death by his siblings, Steven, and Sheila.
Interment with full Military Honors will be held 1:30 pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville Pa.
