Estella Gibbs Lee, 67, of Romansville, passed away  Monday, May 22, 2017, at home. Memorial Services celebrating her life will be held at 10 AM Saturday July 8, 2017 at New Life In Christ Fellowship, 1 South Fifth Avenue in Coatesville, PA

Estella was born in Coatesville, PA to the late James A. and Dorothy (Wilson) Gibbs. She was educated within the Coatesville Area School District and was a 1967 graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School.  After graduating from high school, Estella began working at Lincoln University and part time at the Tabas Cafe in Downingtown, PA.
Estella wanted to further her education and enrolled at Lincoln University full time in January of 1969.  She majored in English and minored in Social Work.  She graduated from Lincoln University in May of 1972 with a Bachelors of Arts in English.  She followed up with additional studies at West Chester University.

Estella began teaching at Gordon Junior High School in Coatesville, PA part time which she enjoyed.  Shortly afterwards, she began full time employment at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an Income Maintenance Worker in Social Work.  She remained with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 29 years until she became ill in 1999 and retired from working.

Throughout the years, she was a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., the Red Hat Society of Chester County, and Families Together (Chester County).  After retirement, she volunteered at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Coatesville, PA.  As a alumna of Lincoln University, she faithfully attended chapter meetings and was a volunteer at the Alumni Association of Lincoln University (AALU) Summit.    First and foremost, she was a devout member of New Life in Christ Fellowship where she served on the Hospitality Ministry.

Her wish was for her body to be donated to science for the betterment of humanity through research.  She still wanted to find a way to give to others.

Estella is survived by her husband Daniel Lee, Jr.; one son Drs. Daniel C. (Maj-Linda) Lee of Tampa, Fl; two daughters, Dr. Deanah L. (Darin) Mitchell of Glenn Dale, MD, Dr. Devon C. Lee of Upper Marlboro, MD; four sisters Nancy (Walter) Baynard of Atglen, Grace (Preston) Jackson of Thorndale, Bernadette Cloud of Downingtown, Dorothy Wilson of West Chester; two brothers, Arnold (Stephanie) Gibbs of West Chester, and Marvin (Janie) Gibbs of Coatesville; four grandchildren, Alexah Mitchell, Carter Mitchell, Linnea Lee, Natalia Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
