Ellis Anthony Rowe, 72, of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully Friday, October 4, 2019, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Ellis was born in New York City and was raised by his adopted parents the late Ellis and Clency Rowe.
In his early years, Ellis and his family relocated to Philadelphia where he attended school and then enlisted in the United States Army. He served over three years in the U.S. Army during the height of the Vietnam Conflict. In 1969, Ellis was honorably discharged from the service and returned to civilian life.
He was employed as a Mail Sorter in the United States Postal Service for many years. In 2009 he married the love of his life Ernestine Denise Parker with whom he shared 10 years.
Ellis was a true techie. He enjoyed working on computers, electronics, and playing computer games. He also enjoyed reading, going out to eat, listening to music and keeping up with current events on television. Most of all he loved shopping online and for his wife who was the recipient of his purchases.
Ellis is deeply missed by his beloved wife, Ernestine D. Parker; three daughters: Tahira Rowe and Theresa Rowe both of Philadelphia, Monica Parker, of Rising Sun, Maryland; three sons: Keith White of Pocono, PA, Malcolm Rowe of Philadelphia, Travon Parker of Coatesville; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; in-laws: Elder Ernest McMullen, Jr. (Amanda), Herman E. McMullen, Robert L. McMullen; sister-in-laws: Elder Virginia E. Patterson (Gary), Katherine M. McMullen (Henry), Tracy Green (Darrin), Elizabeth Jackson, Deborah Milbourne (Karl), Gwen McMullen and host of other relatives and friends.
Interment with Military Honors will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
