Dorothy R. Johnson Craft

Dorothy R. Johnson Craft, 93, affectionately known as “Sissy,” formerly of Avondale, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Twin Pines Health Care Center, West Grove, PA.  She was the wife of her loving and devoted husband, Robert M. Craft, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage.   

Born on July 26, 1924 in Avondale, Dorothy was the eldest daughter of the late Roland C. and Estella E. Cornelius Johnson.  She was a graduate of Avon Grove High School.

Dorothy was an active and faithful member of the Church of Christ in West Grove, PA (also known as Kelton).

Prior to her retirement, Dorothy was employed as a line inspector at the Kennett Mushroom Cannery in Kennett Square, PA.

Dorothy enjoyed reading the Bible, shopping, and spending time with her family.

Dorothy will be so deeply missed and leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Madeline E. Milburn of Philadelphia, brother, Wayne R. Johnson of Nashua, NH, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Austin, Abner (Willy), Ralph and Morton (Butch) and 3 sisters: Lorraine London, Irene Lindsey and Sarah Brown.

Family and friends are invited to attend Dorothy’s funeral service on Saturday, April 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Cedars Church of Christ, 511 Greenbank Road, Wilmington, DE, with viewing from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery.
