Dorothy N. "Dot" Campbell, 94, of Downingtown, PA, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019, surrounded by her family.
Born in Brandywine, Maryland on October 10th, she was the daughter of the late Callie and Norman Proctor. She was the wife of the late Raymond S. Campbell, Sr.
Dot, as she was affectionately called, was a wise, feisty, quick-witted and an extremely funny woman. She always gave good advice and was a straight shooter indeed. She was a daily avid reader. She never drove a car yet it was if she had traveled all around the world. She was the matriarch and the most important person in the Campbell family.
Dot spent most of her time as a homemaker and found true joy in raising nine children. Her whole life revolved around them. She also enjoyed helping anyone in need in any way that she could. She had a servant's heart and was extremely compassionate.
She maintained good connections with people. She called and stayed in touch with EVERYONE on a regular basis, including family & friends, but also the likes of politicians, entertainers and she once kissed Obama!!
She was preceded in death by her sons: Raymond Campbell, Jr., Rick Campbell and Steven Campbell; as well as her siblings, Austin, Gloria, Hugh, Gladys and Beacher Proctor.
She is survived by five daughters, Shirley "Cricket" Pernsley, wife of Stanley, Susan "Cookie" Smith, wife of Ronald, Sr., Linda Campbell, Sheila Hamilton, wife of Hank and Carmen "Hucky" Campbell; one son, John L. Campbell, husband of Glennie; 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She also leaves five siblings: Joseph Proctor, Vincent Proctor, Ellen Gray, Isabelle Marie Harley and Vivian Truxon, all of Maryland, and host of other relatives and friends.
Though our precious mother has gone on, we shall always cherish the many fond memories of her life.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Cornerstone Fellowship,101 Kylies Road, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held beginning at 10 AM until the time of the service.
Interment will be held in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, PA.
