Dennis Earl Walls, 61, of Downingtown, PA departed this life on December 8, 2019 at the University of PA Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Nelson and Carrie "Dell" Walls.
Earl, as he was affectionately known, was one of fourteen siblings. In the early years, he attended the Downingtown Area Public Schools. In high school, he was known for his talented athletic abilities in football. Earl graduated from Downingtown Senior High School in 1976.
Earl was a beloved member of the community. He worked as an assistant plant operator at the Downingtown Paper Mill for over 25 years. Two of his brothers worked at the Mill in the same department. They actually relieved each other when their shift ended. Earl faithfully provided for his family and had a work ethic that was unbeatable. He worked seven days a week without missing a day for many years.
Earl had an infectious laugh and a warm, dimpled smile to match his witty sense of humor. During his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening, swimming, sports and cooking. He especially loved to barbecue on the grill. Earl was an outdoors man; he had a passion for hunting deer and enjoyed fishing in Brandywine Creek and Marsh Creek. He was a family man and every moment spent together was cherished. In all that he did, Earl was an incredible provider, a selfless giver and a constant helper.
Earl will be deeply missed by his family, including three daughters: Lynnette Walls, Shanell (Walls) Christopher and Charmayne Walls all of Downingtown; five brothers: Kenneth Walls, Ronald Walls and Richard Walls all of Downingtown, Robert Walls of West Chester and Albert Walls of Coatesville; five sisters: Sharon (Walls) Harden, Gale Walls, Sarah Walls, Linda Walls and Karen (Cox) Walls all of Downingtown and the love of his life, for over 30 years, Shari Lynn Davis-Walls.
He also leaves five grandchildren, whom he loved and adored: Kayla (Walls) Christopher, Marissa (Walls) Christopher, Trey Walls, Arianna (Walls) Christopher, and Nadia Walls-Barber all of Downingtown; one granddaughter, on the way, Elena "Dennise" (Walls) Christopher, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis "Hope" Walls, Nelson Walls, Jr., and John Walls.
Services will be held 11 AM, Friday, December 20, 2019 at Second Baptist Worship Center, 857 Lumber Street, Coatesville, PA with a viewing beginning at 9:00 AM.
