Charles William Lawson, Sr.

Charles William Lawson, Sr., 60, of Oxford, PA, passed away Saturday, July 27th, at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of Dorothy Irene (Clark) Lawson of West Chester, and the late Charles H. Lawson, Jr.  He was the husband of the late Wanda (Barnett) Lawson.

Charles attended mosque at the Islamic Society of Chester County in West Chester.  He worked as a Counselor at the Chester County Prison and was known as a very soft-spoken and patient man.  He was a great father and son, and had a good sense of humor.  He made you laugh by telling jokes and he would often call his mother to let her know he had a new joke.

He was a devoted mentor to the males in his family and it was very important to him that men became responsible men and successful in their communities.  He was guided by his faith, and his responsibility to his family was very important to him.  And if you knew Charles you know he loved his two Pitbull dogs "Mia and Jo-Jo".  

In addition to his mother, he is survived by son, Charles W. Lawson, Jr. of Oxford; and daughter, Shawna Nicole Lawson of Virginia; brother, Ronald Earl Lawson of West Chester; sisters, Sharon Lee Lawson and Susan Marie King (wife of Clarence) both of Allentown, PA, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Salat el Janazah funeral prayer will be held at 1:15 PM, Tuesday, July 30, at the Islamic Society of Chester County, 1001 Pottstown Pike, West Chester, PA., 19380.  Burial will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA 19355.

There will not be a public viewing.
