Aldean Davis

Aldean Davis lovingly known as “Spider” was born on February 28, 1926 in Starkville, Mississippi.  He was the son of the late Spencer and Sarah Davis. He moved to Philadelphia, PA at a young age with his parents.  In 2009, he moved to Newtown Square, PA where he resided with his daughter Angela Garrett until he passed away on October 26, 2017 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.   

He served in the Army Air Corp where he received the World War II Victory Medal.   Aldean retired from the Philadelphia Naval Base as an electrician after over 30 years of service.

He loved to walk, travel and socialize. Telling jokes was something he also loved to do.   After retirement he had a morning routine that consisted of reading the Philadelphia Daily News, enjoying a coffee roll and a cup of coffee with friends.  He was well rounded by keeping up with current events and he enjoyed reading.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Angela Garrett (Bernard) of Newtown Square PA; stepdaughter, Amanda McCoy of Philadelphia, PA; stepsons, Walter Blair and Kevin McCoy both of Philadelphia, PA; his grandchildren, Latisha Herout (George), Alfina Evans, Spencer Garrett; great grandchildren, Tyrone Hunter and G’Tia Herout.

He was preceded in death by Geraldine Lewis a devoted companion of over forty plus years; Mary Blair the mother of his daughter Angela Garrett; step-daughter Christine Blair and grandson Aaron Evans.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 9-10:15 AM.

Interment will be held privatley.
