Addie E. Wheatley, 81, of Phoenixville, PA, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, December 1, 2019. Born in Garrett Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Malachi Wheatley and Martha (Bundy) Jackson.
She lived with her family in Garret Hill before moving to Phoenixville. Addie attended the Phoenixville Area School System.
She worked as a Psychiatric Aide at Pennhurst State Hospital and Norristown State Hospital for many years until she retired in 1998.
Addie was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville. Over the years, she served as a member of the Flower Club, Hospitality Committee, Missionaries, Pastor's Aide, Usher Board and the Women's Ministry.
Spending time with family and friends were Addie's passion and delight. She loved her family and was always encouraging and supportive.
Addie enjoyed gardening, and traveling. She was a sports fanatic loving all kinds of sports. Most of all, she was a very enthusiastic, "die hard" Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.
Addie will be sadly missed by her three children: Brian Wheatley, of Spring City, PA, Sidney Wheatley (Linda) of Greensboro, NC, Brenda Cambridge (Ronald) of Limerick, PA; beloved daughter in law, Rhoda Wheatley of State College, PA; one brother, John Wheatley of Pottstown; one sister, Mary V. Jackson; sister in law, Faye Jackson; a very special nephew, Bruce Jackson and Godson, Hector Norwood; eleven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by brothers; James Jackson, Nathanial Jackson; sister, Esther Jackson and an aunt, Emma Bundy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Bethel Baptist Church, 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. There will be a viewing beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in the Mt Zion Morris Cemetery in Phoenixville.
