Adaline Lewis

Adaline "Rita" Elizabeth Lewis, "Nookie", 72, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly, Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Parker, Joseph Haywood and raised by Mary Legree.  She was affectionately known as Nookie or Rita by her family and friends.

Rita worked as a Dietary Aide at the Coatesville VA Hospital for 30 years.

She was a member of Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church in Downingtown, PA. Rita loved the Lord and was excited about serving in the church. She enjoyed learning the Word of God and shared it with others.

She loved to listen to music, shop and enjoyed being with her family.

Rita is survived by daughters, Laticia Jennings (Aaron) of Paradise, PA; Levette Lewis (Leroy Richardson) of West Chester, Raquel Jones (Todd) of Coatesville; two sisters, Carol A. Chitala of California, Pamela C. James; brother, Joseph Haywood; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is also survived by a special aunt, Ada Skinner of Wilmington, DE; special cousin, Viola Elizabeth Easton, and aunt, Gladys Legree.

Rita was preceded in death by sistes, Deborah Haywood; brothers, James Haywood, Michael Haywood and Bruce Haywood.

Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church, 199 Wallace Ave in Downingtown, PA.

Flowers can be sent to the church on the day of the service. The theme colors are lavender and white.
