Zedekiah "Zeke" Gibbs, 68, of Thorndale PA, formerly of Coatesville, surrounded by his family, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at home. He was the son of the late James A. and Dorothy (Wilson) Gibbs. He was the husband of Elvira A. (Glasco) Gibbs with whom he shared 47 years.
Zeke was educated within the Coatesville Area School District and was a 1966 graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School.  A U.S. Army veteran, Zeke served during the Vietnam conflict until he was honorably discharged after three years of service. He was employed at Fujirebion Diagnostics as a Finishing Technician where he worked for fifteen years until his retirement. 
Zeke was a quiet man who loved his family. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry work. He was a member of the Sgt. Emmor Williams VFW Post 2404 in Coatesville and the Henry J. Thomas VFW Post 845 in Downingtown.  He was a member of the Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church in Downingtown, Pa.
He is survived by his wife Elvira Gibbs; two daughters, Fawn of Coatesville and her friend Kevin Amos, Dorinda Gibbs of Philadelphia and her friend Clive Smith; five sisters, Nancy (Walter) Baynard of Atglen, Estella (Daniel) Lee of Downingtown, Grace (Preston) Jackson of Coatesville, Bernadette Cloud of Downingtown, Dorothy Wilson of West Chester; two brothers, Arnold (Stephanie) Gibbs of West Chester, and Marvin (Janie) Gibbs of Coatesville; four grandchildren, Jalil Alston, Latay Crutchfield, JaQuan Alston and Terrance Amos; one great-granddaughter, Janiya Crutchfield; aunt Amy Gibbs; uncle Charles Gibbs, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Carl Anthony Gibbs, brother Harlan Gibbs, sister Marjorie Bowman, grandson Robert M. Alston and one granddaughter.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center, All Faiths Chapel, 1440 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320. Viewing will begin at 9 AM. Interment with full military honors will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 11:30 AM on Monday, December 5, 2016.
