FUNERAL SERVICE NOTICE

William C. Searles, Jr., "Bill", 74, of Coatesville, Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at LifeCare Hospice Center of West Chester. Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Second Baptist Worship Center, 856 Lumber Street, Coatesville, PA. Viewing will begin at 9 AM. He will be interred with full Military honors at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, PA.

THE OBITUARY

William C. Searles, Jr., "Bill" ,74, of Coatesville, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the LifeCare Facility in West Chester. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of Sara Mae Smith Searles and the late William Calvin Searles, Sr.

Bill was the husband of Armentha Searles, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

Bill graduated from Coatesville Area High School in 1960. He served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the 1960’s until he was honorably discharged. 

Over the years, he was employed as a laborer at Allegheny Ludlum Steel, and worked at Oberthur Card System in Exton. He served as an officer in the Coatesville City Police Department and the Chester County Sherriff’s Department.

He was a member of Second Baptist Worship Center where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association of Chester County, as well as the state, regional and national ushers organizations.

He enjoyed reading novels, watching mystery movies, and was a Philadelphia Eagles fan.    He enjoyed being with his family.

In addition to his wife and mother, Bill is survived by two sons: Andre’ J.W. Bennett (Daisy) of Exton, Bennett Searles of Coatesville; sisters, Regina Robinson of Coatesville, Lucretia Wells of Hampton VA; 6 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by one sister, E. Annette Searles.


ADDITIONAL SERVICE INFORMATION

Services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Second Baptist Worship Center, 856 Lumber Street, Coatesville. His viewing will begin at 9 AM, ICUA Ushers Tribute at 10:30 AM, and Local Veterans Tribute at 10:40 AM.   Committal and Interment with full Military honors will be held at the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA. 

Condolences can be shared by using the guestbook on this website. Flowers can be sent to the church on the day of the service. The theme color is red and white.
