Affectionately known as Pete by family and friends, Vivian Arlene Robinson passed on September 25, 2016 in Atlanta Georgia.
Vivian was the last sibling of four children born to Namon and Laura Robinson. She was predeceased by her sisters Edythe, Alice and her brother Robert. She is survived by her children Paulette Edythe, and Jeffrey Leon; grandchildren: Danielle Denise, Nicole Darlise, Michelle Denise, Scott Fitzgerald; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Born and raised in Coatesville, she attended the historic James Adams school. Following in the footsteps of her family she practiced her faith at the Second Baptist Church, 9th Merchant where she taught Sunday school and served as member of the nurse's corp. A charter member of the Coates Street family Pete could always be seen coming and going from the homes of family and friends.
During her 88 years on earth, she volunteered at Grady Memorial Hospital, baked Christmas cookies for family and friends and loved going out to dinner. Vivian utilized her competitive streak to play and beat her grandchildren at numerous card and board games, Jacks, Uno, Monopoly, you name it.
Vivian laughed with her sister-in-law, Ann, on the beaches of Jamaica while attending her granddaughter's wedding and gazed in wonderment at her great granddaughter in Los Angeles, Jazz Laura, aptly named for her mother Laura.
Though she received her GED later in life, Vivian quenched her thirst for knowledge through books - tons of books. Sometimes reading 4-5 a week. Mysteries being her favorite.
Quick witted and sometimes hot tempered, she rarely entered a conversation she couldn't win and laughed with glee at her own punchlines.
Vivian transitioned the way she lived -- on her own terms. And for this and with this --- she will be truly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, October 6, 2016 at New Evergreen Cemetery, 211 Cemetery Lane in Coatesville.
