Reade Hamilton

Reade Hamilton, 96, of Coatesville passed away July 3, 2015 at the Brandywine Hospital in Caln. Born in Georgetown, SC, he was the son of the late Eli and Mary Alston Hamilton. He was the husband of the late Julia Frye Hamilton with whom he shared 69 years of marriage. 
Reade was educated in the Coatesville Area public school system. He graduated from Coatesville High School in 1937.  A US army veteran, he served during World War II until he was honorably discharged in 1947.

Reade worked for Embreeville State Hospital for 20 years and Lukens Steel Company for 42 years until he retired.

He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and an usher for several decades.  He was also a member of Lily of the Valley Masonic Lodge #59, Minaret Temple #174, Mt. Lebanon Lodge #18 and Charles E. Gordon #65.

He is survived by his daughter, Gloria M. Noel of Columbus, Ohio; son, Reade A. Hamilton of Fayetteville, N.C.; Grandsons Gerald T. Noel, Jr. of Columbus, OH, Charles F. Noel II of New York City, NY, Benjamin A. Hamilton of Fayetteville, N.C.; 2 great grandchildren: Gerald Thomas Noel III and Sadie M. Noel; brother-in-law, Lawrence A. Frye of Tampa, Fl. And a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Homegoing Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates St, Coatesville. Viewing hours will continue from 9 -10:45 a.m and Masonic Ritualistic Services will begin at 10:15 a.m.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, July 8 at Wright Funeral Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. Interment will be Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester.
