Norma Hines Anderson

Norma Hines Anderson, 54, of Coatesville, surrounded by her family, passed away, Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at home.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Hines and Ramona Martin Hines. She was the proud wife of Terry Anderson for the last twenty years.

Norma was educated within the Coatesville Area School District graduating from CASH. After graduation, she began work at Pocopson Home where she worked for twenty-five years faithfully assisting elderly and medically needy patients with their day to day needs and providing them with kindness and companionship during the later years of their lives.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer she still lived life to the fullest.  She had been honored for several years by the ‘Praise is the Cure’ Breast Health Initiative during their annual Miracle Faith Walk hosted by Scarlett Gibbs.

In Norma’s spare time she enjoyed traveling, photography, entertaining and the Home Shopping Network.  She has had the opportunity to see most of the country and travel to areas outside of the United States.  She was an avid reader who loved flower gardening. She loved to have her family and friends over for fellowship.  There are not many people who could say that they have not been to Norma’s for dinner or an event of some kind.  She loved people and enjoyed a peaceful place for people to fellowship.

Norma was a faithful member of Judah Ministries Church of God in Christ in Coatesville, PA for several years. Norma identified Judah as an extension of her family.  

On Wednesday, July 5, 2017, Norma slipped away holding her sister's hand.  She was known to be a woman of faithful character and incredible strength. Through the challenges of her health, Norma was an encouragement to others and would not complain, but would hold on to her favorite scripture:  Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose.”

Norma is survived by her husband Terry Anderson; her daughters, Tynesha Hines, Darla Hines and Brittany Hines all of Coatesville; her brothers, William “Bill” Hines, Jr. (Linda) of Dallas, TX, Richard Hines (Nieema) of Hampton, VA, Robert Hines of Washington, D.C., Michael Hines of York, PA; a sister, Mary Hines of Coatesville; 5 grandchildren: Saleah & Zymere Hines, Francisco Hall, Jabari & Darion Hall-Hines, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and beloved friends.

Services honoring her life are scheduled 11 AM , Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates Street, Coatesville, PA.  A viewing will be held from 9 AM until 10:45 AM.

Interment will be in Church of Christ Cemetery, Ercildoun, PA.  

Flowers can be sent to the church on the day of the service. The theme color is pink.
