Tribute in Loving Memory of Mattie Cora Gregory 

Mattie Cora Gregory was born July 19, 1953 in Snow Hill, North Carolina. She was one of eleven children of the late Willie Gregory, Sr. and Inez Reid Gregory. She received her education from the Eisenhower Public Schools in Norristown, Pa.  Mattie was affectionately known as “Lulu” by her family. 

Her sister, Carol, took care of her for many years. She is remembered as being full of joy and gently showing concern for those who cared for her.  She found pleasure in watching Bobby Jones Gospel on television each Sunday Morning.  She would often pat her sister Carol’s face and say “I love you.”

On March 30, 2016, Lulu was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by a sister and sister-in law , Mary Guinyard, Juanita Gregory; two brothers, Dennis Ray Gregory and Thomas Earl Gregory.

Lulu is dearly missed by four sisters, Evelyn Carol Gregory of Norristown, Dora Ramsey and her husband Abraham, Sr. of Kenilworth, Pa., Alice Merriweather of Philadelphia, Pa., Mamie Ruth Gregory Sanders and her husband James of Harleysville, Pa.; two brothers, William Gregory, Jr. of Norristown, Michael Anthony Gregory of Norristown; one uncle, Willie Herman Reid, Sr., of Snow Hill, North Carolina; one aunt, Johnnie Mae Dixon of Snow Hill, North Carolina; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lulu’s presence and smile brought joy to everyone in the family. Although she is gone, the memories we hold of her will always be cherished in our hearts.
