Kenneth L. Bush, 80, of Coatesville passed away, February 5, 2016 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, May 2, 1935, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth Lawrence Bush and the late Charles Bush.  

Mr. Bush received his early education from the Historical James Adams School and graduated in 1953 from Scott Senior High School in Coatesville. He met and married Nora Brown Bush with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Out of this union were born three children. 

Mr. Bush was a US Army veteran, serving three years until he was honorably discharged in 1961. He was employed as a machinist at Lukens Steel Company until he retired after 43 years. He was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Trinity, VFW Post #2404 and the Elks Mt. Vernon Lodge #151, all of Coatesville.

Mr. Bush lived at the same house, where he was raised, on Coates Street all of his life. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music: Jazz, R/B and Country. He was a great fan of Frank Sinatra’s music. He also loved photography, airplanes, all the Philly sports teams including: Football, Basketball and Hockey, as well as watching Tiger Woods and even Bull Wrestling. 

Mr. Bush departed this life February 5, 2016.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sandy H. Bush.

He leaves his wife, Nora Bush; two sons, Lance K. Bush (Jezel), Clinton F. Bush; daughter, Jennine V. Bush; step-daughter, April Phillips; mother, Mary Lawrence Bush; three sisters, Mildred B. Bruce (Aaron), Evelyn “Ebby" Carey (Alfred) and Sharon Bush; one brother, Peter Bush (Luvenia); 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He also leaves uncle, Ellis Lawrence; aunt, Marian Lawrence; Melvin “Roy” Thompson Jr.; the Coates Street Girls; Mr. Joel Kennedy, a close friend since fourth grade; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

 

Services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 East Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time.There will be no public viewing. Interment will be private.
