Moonsong aka Jeanette Mallory-Hill Born in Mt. Vernon, New York, was the daughter of the late Richard Edward Mallory and Virginia Florence (White) Mallory. Sister MoonSong was a former public school teacher with a master’s degree, and was certified in Elementary Education and Secondary Health Education.
Jeanette Mallory-Hill had a 35-year teaching career, before “graduating” to full-time pursuit of her interests: Native American and African American storytelling; establishing a Serenity Garden for worship; drug & alcohol abuse prevention; fostering feline friendships; conflict resolution, independent decision-making skills and many aspects of the creative and fine arts. These include: dance, poetry, drama, puppet-making, sculpture, dress-making, and photography.
A few of her memberships include : Keepers of the Culture, Inc.,  Philadelphia’s Afrocentric Storytelling Group, The National Association of Black Storytellers, Inc., The Coatesville Cultural Society and, Friends United for Christ.
Sister MoonSong celebrated her African and Native American roots by telling stories of animal and nature adventures that illustrate navigating through the high and low tides of life, while keeping a song in one’s heart. She told stories designed to entertain, educate and reinforce life lessons of equality, humility, and resisting negative pressures. She brought to life stories from literature; some original, some from Psalms, some from friends, poems, songs, and dances.
Sister MoonSong loved to sing. She enjoyed all kinds of music including songs by Sam Smith, gospel and she was an avid Prince fan.
After a lengthy illness, Jeanette "MoonSong" Mallory-Hill, transitioned to be with her creator on September 23, 2016 .
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Raymond E. Mallory.
She is survived by 2 nieces, Regina Dublin her husband (Brian) and Monica Ramsey; nephews, Raymond Jr., of Rhode Island; 6 great nieces and nephews, Tia, Michael, Vladimir, Brianna, Jack, and Janelle; many cousins, a devoted companion, Robert Adams and a host of beloved friends.
