Dessie Ree McKee, 92, of Kennett Square, passed away August 5 at her residence. Born in Laminson, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Jeanette Norton.
She was wife of the late Howard McClain and the late James McKee. 
While raising a family, she worked in the housekeeping department at Kendal Crosslands in Kennett Square, PA for many years.
Dessie was a member of Greater Works Ministries in Kennett Square, PA.
 She enjoyed gardening, watching sports and deep sea fishing.  
Dessie leaves five sons, Robert Norton (Sarah) of Birmingham, Alabama, Howard McClain of Kennett Square, Leonard McClain (Denise) of Delaware, Benson McKee (Lisa) of Florence, South Carolina, Rickie L. McKee (Barbara) of Atlanta Georgia; three daughters, Mary Lee McClain and Janice McKee (Mack) both of Kennett Square, PA, Brenda Davis (Kenny) of Houston, Texas; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Dessie was preceded in death by one son, Clifton E. McKee and all of her siblings.
Services will be held 11 am, August 12, 2016 at the Second Baptist Church, 132 S. Willow St., Kennett Square. Friends are invited to the viewing which will begin at 9 am until the start of service.
The committal service and interment will held be at Union Hill Cemetery, 424 N Union St., Kennett Square.
