Audrey Caroline Ward was born in Coatesville, PA on April 25, 1943 to James E. (deceased) and Arlene Ward.  She was born on Easter Sunday and was given the nickname of “Bunny”.  She spent her early childhood between her grandparent’s home on Bakers Farm and the home of her parents in Carver Court.  She joined with the body of Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church.  She attended the Houstonville Elementary School and graduated from Scott High School.

After a semester at Central State College in Ohio she relocated to Bayside, NY.  Never forgetting her Christian upbringing, she joined with the Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert Ryan.  She served as the financial secretary for the Floral Ministry for many years.  One of her greatest joys was to do the church decorating, particularly at Christmas time.

Bunny was employed as an accounts receivable agent by a large financial company which later became Wells Fargo.

Although she had no children of her own she was always in the presence of her young cousins who loved their Aunt Bunny dearly.

Bunny transitioned in harmony September 25, 2016 at the age of 73.  She was preceded in death by her younger brother Gregory “Pete” Ward.

She leaves to celebrate her life her mother, Arlene Ward of Coatesville, Pa., brother, Ronald Johnson (Brenda) of Coatesville,Pa., brother, Stanley Smith (Doretha); niece, Sheila Parker; nephew, Gregory Jamal Ward;  grand nieces and nephews.

She also leaves many cousins who have shared her joys and her sorrows through the years.  We shall miss our Bunny but we have the most wonderful memories of the times we shared together.

Interment will be held in the New Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 11:30am.

Condolences can be shared at the guest book link.
